The NiSi S5 system has grown in market popularity due to its unique design for ultra-wide lenses. We have received many questions about the S5 system and this FAQ hopes to answer some of the more common questions.
Q1 : When will the NiSi S5 filter system be available in the market ?
NiSi: Good news! The NiSi S5 system will be available some time in December 2017. Our initial distribution will be limited as we want to ensure the utmost quality of our new product lines. We will announce the exact date of its availability in the market in the near future. If you don’t want to miss this important announcement, please sign up to our newsletter.
Q2: The NiSi S5 system will be available for Nikon 14-24 and Tamron 15-30 lenses soon. Do you plan to release adaptors for other ultra-wide lenses in the future ?
NiSi: NiSi prides itself on supporting ultra wide lens users. In order to provide our ongoing commitment to you, we are currently designing and developing adaptors for the following lenses :
- 95mm lenses: Canon TS-E 17mm, Sigma 20mm, Tokina 16-28mm, Sigma 14mm
- 105mm lenses: Nikon 19mm, Sony 12-24mm

Q4: I currently own a Nikon 14-24mm lens but also own lenses whose filter thread is 77mm. Is it possible to use the NiSi S5 system with lenses of smaller diameters?
NiSi: Adaptor rings for 77mnm and 82mm lenses are already available for customers who use 150mm filter systems for Nikon 14-24 and Tamron 15-30. Therefore the S5 filter holder will be perfectly compatible providing you own the appropriate adaptor ring for these lenses.
Q5: There is a Pro CPL in the S5 kit. Are other circular filters being developed for use with the S5 system?
NiSi: The S5 has been the first system to allow use of a circular filter. We plan to release UV, ND8, ND64, ND1000, ND3200 and landscape CPL filters which can be purchased separately.
