To date, most photographers have had bad experiences using variable ND filters. Despite their high cost, image quality has often not met photographers’ demands.
There are three main areas to judge the quality of a variable ND filter :
- “X” Effect
- Image definition
- Color cast
The following video assesses these three points with respect to the new NiSi Pro Nano 1.5-5 Stops Enhance ND-VARIO
If you would like to learn more about the NiSi Pro Nano 1.5-5 Stops Enhance ND-VARIO ,we suggest you watch the review by Everlook Photography. This review discusses the filter’s performance based on RAW files viewed in Adobe Lightroom.
The NiSi Pro Nano 1.5-5 Stop Enhance ND-VARIO is a variable neutral density filter providing an exposure reduction of 1.5 to 5 stops. The degree of density is easily controlled by rotating the knob. The transition of density occurs smoothly which allows the photographer or videographer to adjust exposure length to the exact amount required for a given scene. For those using this filter with cinema or video cameras, combined adjustments of aperture and this filter allow fine adjustments of depth of field while retaining the designated frame rate.
